By the Grace of God, we are working on a new project to create a peaceful space for prayer, meditation, and contemplation at the Convent. We pray that, through everyone’s prayers and the generosity of those who are able to contribute financially, we may bring this project to completion. If you would like to take part in this blessing and support the project, please click below to donate. We are grateful for all your prayers, love, and support, and we pray that, by God’s grace, the Convent may continue to be a place of spiritual blessing, peace, and renewal for all who visit.
Welcome to
St. Katherine of Alexandria & St. Verena of Thebes
Coptic Orthodox Church & Convent
A monastery for women established by the grace of God under the auspice of His Eminence Metropolitan Serapion in Hemet, California. Rooted in the Coptic Orthodox tradition, our convent is a refuge of stillness, prayer, and repentance — where women and girls seek a deeper life in Christ. Blessed by the holy relics of St. Katherine and St. Verena, the convent is adorned by their virtues, echoing the call to “imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises” (Hebrews 6:12). By God’s mercy, it offers retreats and events throughout the year — a foretaste of heavenly peace and the beauty of Coptic Orthodox life.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
Colossians 3:16

“Come Away and Rest a While“
Mark 6:31
The Convent of St. Katherine & St. Verena opens its doors to young women seeking silence, renewal, and a deeper love for Christ. Here, in an atmosphere of prayer and stillness, the heart is reawakened to its first love. Whether for a day or a season, retreat is an invitation to step away from the noise and be held in the embrace of God.

“Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase.“
Proverbs 3:9
Before stones are laid and walls are raised, every holy house is first built with prayer.
We invite you to lift up your hearts with us — and if you are able, to place your firstfruits upon the altar of this growing vineyard.
Together, let us build a dwelling for Christ, and He will dwell in us.
